I gave Trafigura account details for transfers – Campbell | News
Former People’s National Party (PNP) General Secretary Colin Campbell has admitted he was the person who gave Trafigura Beheer an account number for the entity through which a controversial $31 million payment was made. was routed to the political organization.
Campbell said he did so “as General Secretary of the National People’s Party in charge of the administration of the National People’s Party”.
He was testifying before the Supreme Court on Wednesday as part of the Trafigura hearings.
The Dutch company transferred $31 million to political fundraising entity CCOC Association in three installments of just over $10 million each on September 6 and 12, 2006.
Dutch authorities are investigating whether this payment violated the laws of the country.
But Campbell, on his second day of testimony, insisted that the CCOC association, in 15 years of operation, had no relationship with Trafigura Beheer.
“The CCOC association has an account which was used to transfer a donation to the People’s National Party,” he said.
